Surrey Police Selects OrgPlus Enterprise to Manage Major Staff Restructuring

Org charting solution implemented for planning, modelling and communicating future organisation

Exeter, United Kingdom. - 10 January, 2011 - HumanConcepts, the leading provider of workforce decision support solutions, has deployed OrgPlus Enterprise as the Surrey Police Force's organisational charting solution. Since implementation, OrgPlus Enterprise has had significant impact by improving data accuracy and providing visibility into the force's hierarchy so they could successfully plan and model future organisational options.

Surrey Police's HR planning team needed to conceptualise a smaller command structure to simplify the organisation and reduce costs. With OrgPlus Enterprise, the team proactively managed reorganisation decisions by performing scenario planning and creating what-if calculations in real time, creating a go-forward structure that met organisational goals. The solution also provided clear, consistent employee and manager communications to and ensured "business as usual" continuity.

OrgPlus Enterprise is available to all 5,000 staff members through People Solutions, the force's portal, enabling employees to easily access the organisational structure and obtain basic colleague information such as title, department and location. Over 700 managers and supervisors now have clear insight into relevant workforce metrics including span of control, pay grade and chain of command.

OrgPlus Enterprise produces organisation charts directly from the force's HR database, Police Personnel, which is an Oracle-based solution supplied by Cedar HR. Visualising the HR data allows the HR department to see if there are any inaccuracies in the organisational structure and quickly address the errors.
